LIFE photo archive on Google

One of the most magnificent photo archives of the past century is now available on Google. The LIFE photo archive contains images stretching from the 1750s to today. Most of the photos in this archive were never published and are now available for the first time. Below is a picture of the earth taken from Apollo 10 space ship.

Fixing digital photos using Picasa

A nice tutorial on the Google Photos Blog about fixing common photography problems. Talks about some of the features inbuilt in Picasa to adjust the image brightness, contrast, orientation (!!!) etc. Nice place to begin these features of Picasa. Ofcourse there is the open source GIMP for free advanced image editing.
